Happy Holidays!
It has been roughly two years since Wild Mountain sent a newsletter. As you can imagine, we have been dealing with COVID and determining how Wild Mountain will be reaching out musically to all our fans. Thankfully, we were so busy recording pre-pandemic, that we have been able to keep you filled musically with new songs and videos throughout the last few years.
Like so many, we have moved to a more virtual platform. Wild Mountain has been busy shooting new videos and promoting songs on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. We have almost reached 1000 subscribers on our YouTube channel (an important number we are trying to reach), so if you haven’t already, please check out our channel and SUBSCRIBE here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1HqltuUQcSQzA2t0j2yG0Q
Wild Mountain is currently creating a 4 song film that will be available on our YouTube channel. The film is entitled “Wild Wind Suite” and will star Sarah Jones and Ryan Bee, (guitarist and actor in our video “4+20”). The songs will be released in individual installments and then the whole film will be released in 2022 bringing all the individual songs together. The first video Wild Wind Blowin’, has been released and can currently be seen on our channel. Not to give the plot away, but… what does a woman do when she loses someone close and has to decide how she will carry on? Where and how to live, work, and travel. We were lucky that when we shot Wild Wind Blowin’ we had beautiful images of the Rocky Mountains and all the fall colors in their full glory. Watch while Sarah finds her way through the next steps in life and winds her way west… what’s next??? Subscribe to our Wild Mountain YouTube channel to find out!
During the pandemic members of the band also worked on various individual projects.
Singer Sarah Jones has been working on her own music. Her solo project name is Sarah Jones Experience (SJE), where she plans to work with various artists to produce different songs as single releases. Her first song and video “Scurry On Back Inside” can be seen on Wild Mountain’s YouTube channel as well as on the Sarah Jones Experience YouTube channel. Guitarst/composer Mike Nile, fiddle player Renne Fine and their little dog Maya decided to take the band bus and go “day tripping” in the Colorado mountains, exploring and shooting travel videos featuring Wild Mountain’s Greengrass music. The YouTube travel channel is called “Wild Mountain Side Of The Road Show”. Mike wrote and shot the videos for “I Won’t Give Up On You” and “The Other Side Of Life” – two songs dedicated to caregivers, doctors and nurses fighting the good fight for all during the pandemic. Neale Heywood (Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham guitarist), recorded and performed the songs with Mike and his son Ryan Bee and can be seen on our Wild Mountain YouTube channel.
Mike also began working as director and videographer for Peter Fletcher’s “Vessel – A Rock Opera”. Peter Fletcher – composer, guitarist, vocalist and producer has written a rock opera that is produced by Neale Heywood and stars Ryan Bee and Kyra Lynn Sands, along with a lineup of local Colorado musicians. The opera is due for a 2022 video release and then will be performed live on stage in Los Angeles, CA.
David Potter, banjo, and guitar, is now in Asheville, TN where he is currently working on building a library of music for TV and Film, while finishing up on a new solo EP called “Flyin’ High” expected to be out by January 2022.
Drummer/DJ Andy Maroney now lives in Oklahoma City, OK and is performing as DJ Terpenoid at various clubs, festivals, and events and playing drums with a couple of the local bands.
Bassist/Guitarist Joseph Maul is working on some of his own songs and investigating astral projection.
Well… hopefully this newsletter makes up for some of the personal communication lost over the last couple of years. We hope you all stay safe and healthy, and have a wonderful holiday season. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay tuned for more Wild Mountain music!
